    Happy Valentine's Day
    To You and Yours!

    I was cruelly led to believe when I was young that Valentine’s Day was reserved ONLY for those closest to us—that it was weird to wish strangers or acquaintances a Happy Valentine’s Day. That would be equal to telling them I love them. But aren’t we suppose to love others?


    Of course, I’m bringing up Valentine’s Day because it’s February, the month for Valentines, and it’s a BIG deal… bigger than just flowers or dinner with that special someone. I may have shared this story with you before, but when my wife and I were planning our wedding back in 1979, she suggested we reveal to all in attendance words that would convey our LOVE for each other.  Some of those words included: Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily  angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and  always perseveres.

    When you read these words, it sure sounds like love is NOT reserved for just those close to us but rather it’s a verb lived out on and for others. Others being anyone and everyone. I’m so proud of my team for buying into and adapting in action LOVE towards clients, prospects, vendors and even our competition. I’m confident this is why we have been recognized as the real estate sales team others measure themselves by.
    So the secret to our success is pretty much summed up in this month’s newsletter theme: L-O-V-E. Not as a noun, but as a VERB. In fact, when we find ourselves with a decision to make, it’s pretty much impossible to go wrong filtering through this question: What does love require of me?

    We do love helping people sell and buy the place they call home. We love helping our past clients (who are never really past clients) increase their wealth investing in real estate. We love giving a portion of our income and time to Worthy Causes. I love watching team members grow both personally and professionally. I love competitors as it makes us better at helping others get what they want. And people say we are better than good at doing just that! And we work each day to SHOW love toward

    It is very common at the beginning of the year for all of us on our team to sit and reflect on the past year. We think how grateful we are for ALL the many supporters of our team. Our business  survives on our clients and friends referring us to those they know looking to buy or sell a home. We put our heads together and said we HAVE to give back to those who give so much to us! It’s really not fair that all of our past clients get treated the same as our Raving Fans. So we created an EXCLUSIVE program for the Raving Fans of the Toronto Platinum Realty Team!

    Who do we consider a Raving Fan? A Raving Fan is someone who has introduced us to or sent us the contact information for someone who is looking to buy or sell a home. If you are receiving this letter, it means you have officially been entered into your first 6 months of our Raving Fan Appreciation Program.

    Included in the Raving Fan Appreciation Program:
    • Once a month, our raving fans will receive a custom PACKAGE on your front door – keep an eye out for it! Inside it you will receive a gift. We will make it fun each month, and there will even be opportunities to guess what it is. :)
    • Every quarter we will have a smaller, exclusive event JUST for our raving fans – think spring family picture mini-sessions or Summer movie night!
    • Each quarter, Ahmad, Diana, and Sam, and our amazing agent partners will treat those who referred us that quarter to a special dinner!

    So how does this work? For every introduction that we receive from you, your subscription to our Raving Fan Program will be extended by 6 months! If you send us 2 introductions that means you have a year extension in the program. 3 introductions, 1.5 years, 4 introductions, 2 years, etc. Again, we are trying to REALLY give back and show our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to those who truly support us by referring us to their friends and family. It’s not that we don’t appreciate ALL of our clients, but there are many who have REALLY stood out to us as Raving Fans, and it’s time to GIVE BACK!

    We, of course, had to define what an introduction is. When you send us the contact information for someone that is looking to buy or sell a home in the next 6 – 12 months, that is an introduction. We REALLY appreciate it when so many of you tell us that you gave our information to someone, but the truth is, we never hear from them. :( We have found that people lose the information, or are so busy that they don’t have time to call. The best thing to do is to tell your friend, family member or co-worker that we will be reaching out to them to give them some free information about buying or selling a home. People love it because we are coming from a place of contribution then we will reach out to them. We are NOT pushy or in their face. We come from a place of VALUE and will send them some tips about  getting their home ready, or buying a home, etc. Another super easy way to be countered as an instruction is if you send us and your friend and email introduction with everyone’s contact information – you truly look like the hero!

    Why I Support Sick Kids Hospital

    I remember when I first heard about a young person close to our family suffering from a nasty disease and getting treated for that at Sick Kids Foundation. It was then that I began to pay closer attention to the work they do at that non-profit organization. 
     
    Since then, I have learned that it is a collection of hard working health care professionals, most making their home right here in the Greater Toronto area, all coming together for a common cause. That cause is to help young people overcome unfortunate health issues that life sometimes throws our way. Now, not only being a son but also a father, I take pride in supporting in a way that I can see the good work these people do for the children.

    My team rallies around our annual goal of raising money and donating portions of our income to help the Sick Kids Foundation in their quest to heal young people when they need healing. My team and I are committed to  providing outstanding results for buyers and sellers  referred to us by our past clients. I have discovered that Sick Kids Foundation shares similar commitments to their patients and since their services survive on sponsorships and donations, we are happy to contribute and proud to support them.
