If someone is being open about your home, will you be able to take it without getting mad even if they tell you some things about your home that may piss you off?
Today we're going to be talking about being more inviting about honest opinions about your house. We know that this can be a touchy topic for a lot of sellers. Some people have been living in their homes for a very long time. They have a certain attachment to their home; they're very emotional about their home, which we completely understand and we sympathize for it. However, when selling your home, it's really important to get the honest opinions of different people about the good points of your house but also the bad points about your house.
Because, if you love your home, then you want the buyer to love your home as much, and a lot of buyers are looking for very similar things. So, it's super, super critical to hire the right agent that's not going to tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to hear about your home, about what needs to get done to get your home sold fast for top dollars, and if you're emotional about your house, or you're very attached to your house, to the buyer that ... particular buyer you want for your home.
You've got to be open to suggestions, not just the good things, but the negative things too, because if somebody's looking at your house from the outside and they don't have emotional attachments to it, especially if they're a professional. They got to be a professional, because otherwise it doesn't really matter what they think.
But if they're a professional giving you advice or points about the house, you should be open to it, because that's probably what the real information ? is that you're going to need to use when deciding on a price and other factors.
Like the right agent or the right team or the right person that you're going to decide to work with, needs to be very knowledgeable about what buyers are looking for, what tips to give you on how to sell your home for top dollars, and as much as it's a hard pill to swallow, sometimes they have to tell you to take down personal things or pictures.
Like personal pictures, religious things. Do you think it's important for you to take down your personal pictures of you and your family or your baby, the cute baby with the cheeks? Or like your religious stuff, like pictures and stuff.
Do you think if an agent told you that you need to take those things off, because it would sell better... How would you feel about it?
Let us know in the comments below how you would feel about it, and if you think it would make a difference.
Is it offensive? Is it not? Would you listen? Do you think it's good advice? What do you think?
